The Shape of a House

The Shape of a House - Birdhouse
A place
where someone lives
takes meals
relates...
well
or poorly
Learns to love
or doesn't
Sleeps...
in security and acceptance, in peace
or
fretful, uneasy, disturbed, guarded

aware
not all is as it should be.

Can you tell these things
from the outside?

The shape of a house
the color of the curtains
over its deep
or shallow
eyes
the clearness of the panes
or their murkiness
the paint
bright, cheerful...
dull, dark...
or peeling
the tile on the roof
precise and orderly...
or missing.

You can guess...
but can you KNOW
from these things
what you will find inside?

Come in.
Come into this house.
Do what You will
What You can
with what You find within.

Teach
love
acceptance
security
in You.
Clean the panes
so all can see out
and in
no fear
no worries
let this house
belong to You.
