But people still went. They wanted to be with You badly enough to go to You where You were, even if it meant being in a lonely place. An uninhabited place. A harder to reach place. Maybe even a
harder-to-be-in place.
I don't know if any of those people knew it was a consequence of the disobedience of the man You healed of leprosy (Mark 1:40-45). Maybe they only found out later. Maybe some of them never found out.
It doesn't matter. What matters is they still came to You from everywhere (Mark 1:45)
They still do.
Going where You are leads me at times to a lonely place. Maybe it would have been that way anyway, or maybe it's because someone didn't do what You told them to do. I don't always get to know the reason.
But the important question is not : Why does following You or being with You lead me to a lonely place? The question is: Will I go to You anyway? Will I follow You anyway? Do I want to be with You badly enough that the lonely places - the desert places - the hard places - are all worth it?
You wanted to be with me badly enough.
