Water Is Not Enough Part 2 - Mark 1:1-8 Post 9

Last week, I shared some of my thoughts about Mark 1:8 and John the Baptist's statement: "I baptize you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit." This week I'm posting Water Is Not Enough, a song I wrote in response to the same verse.   The pictures in the video are all of water in some of the places that our family has had the privilege of living or visiting.  (Lyrics for Water is Not Enough.)

Water is a wonderful gift.  Beautiful to look at; refreshing to feel it running over me or running down my throat.  I love water.  I thirst after it on many different levels.  Maybe part of the reason it's so beautiful to me is how much I need it.

Yet, in spite of all it is and all it gives me, even to the point of sustaining my life, it cannot give me the one thing I need to truly live.  I need Jesus and the life He gives me.

Lord - I need You. I need Your touch, Your beauty.  I need You to sustain me.  As much as I will always love water -  it will never be enough.

And like everything else that You allow in my life, it sings to me of You - how beautiful You are - how much I need You.  I want to open my eyes and my heart and let even water lead me to You
